This stunning piece weighs over 700 pounds. It shows a hand, which symbolizes the hand of God reflected in each of the artisans who made this work of art possible. It also shows a Quetzal bird, a salamander, and the faces of three Mayan warriors. These faces represent the courage and strength of Maya people.

Carlos was born in San Pedro las Huertas, La Antigua Guatemala, and he has been a jade carver for over 40 years. He has ventured into Mayan replicas, jewelry and sculptures. With the help of his family, he has installed a factory that educates and instructs new generations in the carving jade.
