Iximché Necklace

This necklace is a rendition of one found in a tomb in Iximche, Tecpan, Guatemala. Iximche is one of the last Post-Classic Maya cities. It was built shortly before the Spanish conquest. The original necklace is composed of jaguar heads and beads made from gold.

The necklace is stunning and well made, as are all of my pieces from Jade Maya. It’s a striking and one of a kind piece. The green jade, however, is more of a blue/gray color, and not as deeply green as the photos show. I know that jade naturally varies in its hues, but it would be helpful to see photos of all versions of the necklace, to give buyers a better idea of what they can expect to receive.
