The Rebirth of Hunahpú
Inspired by the Popol Vuh, the sacred book of the Maya, this piece conveys a powerful message of the triumph of good over evil, reflecting Hunahpú’s victory over the forces of darkness in the underworld. Carefully crafted with jade in various colors, each shade represents an essential aspect of Maya cosmology: life, renewal, and connection to the divine. The sculpture also features a wooden base, along with details in jasper and silver, enhancing its symbolic and aesthetic richness. Through this artwork, tribute is paid to resilience, transformation, and rebirth—core values of Maya culture.
