Maya Creation
It represents the sacred origin of humanity according to Maya cosmology. Carved from green jade, a symbol of fertility and abundance, the piece shows the Man of Maize emerging from roots that connect him to the earth, his source of life. Gucumatz, the Feathered Serpent, weaves through the composition, guiding his creation and giving him divine breath. This artwork honors maize as the foundation of Maya existence, reminding us of the deep connection between humanity, nature, and the sacred.
