Ahau Kan - Ascension, Lord Serpent
Created using the direct carving technique, this piece is inspired by Lintel 25 of Yaxchilán, Chiapas, Mexico, one of the most emblematic representations of Maya art. Lintel 25 depicts Queen Kʼabʼal Xook in a visionary ritual, where the celestial serpent emerges, connecting the human world with the divine realm. In this reinterpretation in blue jade, the majesty of the original relief is captured, giving it a new dimension through the stone's unique translucency and depth.
