Jaguar Embroyo in Black Jade

This carving in Black Maya Midnight Jade demonstrates the role of the jaguar in Maya thought as the creature of the night, always being born and becoming form.

It is an exclusive piece carved by John Hull, who is a native Texan who began carving jade in Guatemala in 1974, and continued traveling in Asia and carving nephrite jade in New Zealand.  He selects the highest quality of jade for his artwork. He now lives in Santa Fe New Mexico, where he shows his creations in galleries. This collection includes 13 unique one of a kind pieces carved from Apple Green Jade, Black Jade, Olmec Blue Jade, and Galactic Gold Jade.
